Partner Search

I did not see a partner search forum...so I am posting here.

14 yr. old follow seeks a 15 to 18ish yr. old lead for ballroom/latin and possible swing dance. I have some training in ballroom/latin and swing. I am pro. "level" salsa dancer trained in cabaret. (Lifts/tricks). I have trained in ballet, jazz, tap, modern, hiphop, flamenco, A. Tango and of course salsa. I have performed in competitions and exhibitions. I am seeking a confident lead with a great deal of stage presence, who sees himself as having world class potential. I am able to train in the L.A. area.

Also am seeking a "big league" ballroom coach/instructor that would be interested in training a world class youth couple.

Excuse me if this request for my daughter sounds a bit pretentous...I have been at this a while...and I don't mean it to be.

You can post an ad for your daughter on this site under Classified Ads and include a picture.

There are also other partner-matching sites, some of which charge fees.

Unfortunately, there are more young women than young men interested in dancing in the US.

If I may make a suggestion, I'd cut down on the list of dances in which your daughter claims experience to a few in which she's most interested. Some candidates may get the impression that she can't make up her mind what she wants to do.

Good luck.

jofjonesboro, I've submitted her on the classifieds...but I don't think there will be any success. I have put her on other boards i.e. dancepartners.net with no luck.

My best luck (if there are any talent young leads out there)....is word of mouth. I have been contacting the pros...in hopes they know someone our could keep her info on file. She is pro. material...so I may take another approach. It is very disappointing...with all her skill and training and can't seem to do a thing with it. I know of some other talented young (world class) follows that are in the same way.
Very sad...really.

Professionals as a rule do not help their pro/am students find amateur partners. They have no reason to do so.

Have you inquired through your local USA Dance chapter? Their website has a chapter locator that provides links.
