Re: Then answer the question.

"As I have pointed out in the past, your contributions to discussions of dancing technique demonstrate that you do not know how to lead."

Nope, all you've done is prove your own ignorance of the subject.

And unfortunately, the understandable bitterness from your negative experiences with pro/am seems to have distracted you from pursuing serious improvement in your own dancing.

Still afraid to answer the question, huh?

I'll match my knowledge of dancing against yours anytime.

Answer the question.

It's "losing" not "loosing."

And please tell us what official declared you to be a winner. The pro who's convinced you that you can dance?

Answer the question.

Well, you see, I am quite aware of the factual real-world state of my abilities, and if you choose to dispute that based on what you believe to be misconceptions in my comments, all that really does is suggest your own ignorance of the subject.

I have nothing to prove to you - I really don't care what you think, because I'm comfortable with the real world fact of what happens when I set foot on a dance floor.

But I must admit it's somewhat entertaining to watch you embarrass yourself repeatedly proving your ignorance to me...
You dance pro/am.

You have no idea what the "real world" of amateur Ballroom is.

actually from what those of us who read this board regularly anymouse, terence2 and walt123 tend to offer the clearest answers to questions posted that address knowledge of dance. no one has to declare a winner since those of us who read are the judges, we decide; when we cannot recommend friends to this site because we know what they read will turn them off of dancing that is the judgment that matters
So you presume to represent all readers

of this board?

I've read anymouses' advice; he overcomplicates every single issue.

As far as Terence is concerned, I actually worked with him - or at least tried to - when he was in the Atlanta area. He's a pretty good fellow but his answers are anything but clear; unfortunately, he doesn't write very well - not saying that he can't, just that he doesn't. If you wish, I can provide you with an example.

I have to leave now. I have plans this evening. Have a good weekend.

"The inflated egos of many first year dancers do not come from their own experiences but by being told repeatedly by professionals trying to get into their wallets thay they are very good dancers with lots of talent who could be "the best amateur dancer in this city.""

There's not doubt that this is a common problem, but it's not the only explanation, as evidenced by the fact that it also happens in situations where pro/am is not being marketed to them.

Many will mistake initial success in trivial gateway challenges of ballroom, or history in performance dance styles, as some kind of indication of meaningful long-term ballroom ability when in fact it's pretty irrelevant or possibly even counterproductive towards really learning ballroom. It's not usually those who easily win beginner competitions who go on to lasting success, but those who are merely okay at the start and quickly get in the habit of working hard to improve.
