What options do I have to learn ballroom if I don't have much money?

Sometimes community centers, churches, clubs, and other various groups have cheap or free ballroom lessons. Otherwise, you'll just have to wait until you can afford them. Sounds awful, but most people aren't going to give it away for free. They came by it with a lot of work and money they had to shell out, and it really isn't fair to them. A lot of people like myself would love to teach ballroom to willing people who loved it... but the thing is, there are a lot of costs involved in it, even if you don't have a studio, if you're just a dork with a pair of shoes and a pirated ballroom vids addiction. (FFFFTT! Did you hear that? Someone just lit a match for an ethics flame-war)

As DivaGinger said, the cheapest way to learn how to dance is group lessons. Community centers are usually the cheapest but not always. Check out independent studios. Avoid the chains (Arthur Murray, Fred Astaire) like the plague!

Take a look on Youtube.com, put in "Ballroom Dance" Lessons, or instructions, steps, figures, dance name, ect. * Some are people posting, themselves, some post video clips, there is everything! ScottyBoysDoll

* There is nothing as good, as professional hands-on instruction, with the teachers trained eyeball over your shoulder!! Just remember, if it is a individual posting the video, the information, may or may not be complete, or correct. **You can tell what is homemade video, & which is clips from professional training
videos.

You could take a community college course. Its a place to start, you don't need a partner and its really very cheap.

You aren't going to learn everything you should but at least its a great foundation!!
