The Difference

I read an aricle in one of our Dance magazines which might explain some of the difficulties in teaching men and women. Here goes roughly. A female has difficulty reading maps. A technique book is a map. The male when speaking doesn't hear another conversation nearby. A female does. Its something to do with two sides of the brain being used, and for the male only one.
The writing above only just touches the article which took up a whole page.
I think the diferences between the sexes would be that even in the cave men days sitting reading her weekly magazine she would still hear one of her children calling for some asistance. The male wouldn't be so quick to respond. I think the lesson to be learnt is that the male will probably catch on to something new being learnt quickly because of his deeper concentration and can't understand why the partner takes a little longer. To understand that this is how we are made might suggest that a little patience wouldn't go astray.

Sorry, but I'm not buying those kind of stereotypes. I'm female and I can read a map just fine. I have an enormously long attention span and far prefer in-depth concentration on one task than flitting from thing to thing. If I'm concentrating on a work assignment, I won't hear a kid, parent, neighbor or anyone else calling for me.
I have no argument with your request for patience in dealing with partners, but I object to your assumption that one sex is going to need more patience than the other.

Clary. I think you may have already answered part of the discusion. Where do I get the assumption that one sex is..... Did I say that, or was I quoting from a article written in a Dance Magazine. And of course you jumped the gun again when you wrote I have no argument with YOUR request...
The fact remains that as a female two sides of your brain are working and the man when concentrating only one.
Didn't you know Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus.
