Idslove. International Style.
Quickstep. Foxtrot and Jive are classed as Swing dances. But the way Jive is being done in top competitions is not with Swing. This is where the technique books are not keeping up with the change in style. Why no Swing. With the speed of the music we would be chasing the beats. Flick Jive is the way to go and not Swing which is fine if the music is played at a slower Tempo which should never happen in a competition.

QS.. FT and Jive are SWING dances !!!!!!

hardly.. they may have evolved musically from the "swing" ( music )era, but to lump them all together is misleading .

In either Amer. or Intern. style, Jive/Swing are part of the Latin/ Rhythm categor.

The term " swing " as applied to smooth dance action, has no relationship to the above mentioned .

This a purely and simply a " technique "
