Though missing the clave rhythms which makes it inauthentic in terms of being true rumba, I really like Vittorio.

All in Love is Fair

and though a little bit Bolero-ish

Querida

Good look!!

Did the rumba to "Sway" by the Pussycat Dolls in a show, and it turned out pretty well. I was more inclined to view it as a cha-cha song, but it works for either.

You'll go a long way before finding a better song to dance a Rumba to than On My Own. Patti LaBelle and Michael McDonald. If you Google exactly the above you can watch and hear the whole song.

Anyone remember Xaviar Cugart? Now there is authentic latin music. Anyone want to borrow the record?

Cugat is great, but much of his Rumba is too quick for the developed International Style, and too many of his tracks have dreadful vocals - in a style so dated, it makes you giggle, rather like watching Walter Laird dance on those old grainy clips on YouTube.

When selecting a tune to dance the Rumba to. Learn how to count in bars. 25 Bars a minute is the acepted. 28 bars a minute is is passable , but no faster with the way the hips are being used by todays dancers.
Any professional will tell you that if the Rumba is faster than it should be the first thing that will go out the door is the use of the hips.

I noticed that most of the Dancelife music is now available on i-Tunes.
I also find their shoes great

I would suggest this beautiful rumba, it's a slower one but good enough to dance: Paul Carrack - Satisfy My Soul!
