Hi! This is a really really fabulous website that really helps me out with my dance steps. Could you please put up a post on the Off Beat Cha Cha as well? I really love the dance but I've forgotten most of the steps. I liked it very much because its good for social dances. Could you please do a post on this? I know the Off Beat Cha Cha really doesnt have fixed steps but if you could give a few pointers on this? Thanks so much. God bless!

I,m guessing you mean "breaking " on "1"....

If you dance cha cha now, just change the beat.. if you dont know any cha cha, then I suggest a class for beginners.; teaching someone HOW to dance on a site, has many pit falls for the student.

I,m curious why you want to learn on "1".. there is music, (an indigenous "dance" and music.. Guajira ) that is danced on "1".. could that be what you mean ?

Terence, do you think she might be referring to dancing in half-measures or something along those lines? We switch to half-measures in the rumba on occasion because it looks nice and mixes things up a bit, but I am not familiar with it in the cha-cha, though I suppose it's possible. Not sure what it would do to the syncopation that makes the cha-cha what it is.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the off beat cha cha is a line dance.
