That's not exactly the plan, but it's close.
This year we will be unveiling a new "Premium Membership" service, which will allow members to view much more material. Pricing has yet to be determined, but it will most likely be one single rate for a full year. At the time of launch, it will give you the ability to view narrated video demonstrations of all patterns through the full bronze level in 21 dances, plus some combinations. It will also include full instruction videos for all previous variations of the week, including narrated demo, man's parts explained, lady's parts explained, and demos to music -- just like a teaching DVD.
Early next year we will be adding our first full instruction video clips for the syllabus patterns. Like the variations, this will include demos to narrated counts and music, as well as full explanations of the man's and lady's parts. We will begin with fundamental techniques and bronze level patterns -- as many as our video shoot will allow time for. If that proves successful, we will continue adding full instruction videos over the coming months until we have a complete syllabus through full gold.
We've been asked many times to produce a line of DVD's and/or pay-per-download video clips. After careful consideration we've decided that that model is not best for our content for a number of reasons. It's a mouthful to explain, but as we fill in the content and additional functionality over the next year, I think the reasons will become clear. The good news is, as internet connectivity continues to expand and speed increases over the next few years with laptops, celphones an handheld devices, the need to purchase and store videos for offline viewing will diminish. So I think ultimately you will find the membership-based model ideal.
