cuban walk technique

I have just watched the cuban walk basic videos on the website - forward and backward. It looks like the follower turns her heel to the inside when she moves her leg and then step on it. I know there is some cuban motion ... does she turn her heel in order to do cuban motion ? Please help me to interpret the cuban walks.

If I remember my lesson properly, the toes do turn out slightly so when you walk, the front heel actually hides the back heel. If you look in a mirror while you are doing it, you have a very nice narrow look - legs very close together. If you have your feet apart or toes turning in, it looks "clunky". But it is very subtle and not something to focus heavily on until you have the rest of the leg action figured out - a challenge to last a lifetime for me, I think!

If My teacher's told me once, he's told me a million times:

the knees create the cuban motion. one knee is bent, one straight-ergo the hips do the motion.

the heels going "in" or "forward" isn't the big issue-nor should it be exagerrated.

again-if you bend one knee and keep the other straight, your hips automatically react. that is the cuban motion.
