so I signed up for basic membership and discovered I can't view dance step videos unless I pay $99/yr for premium membership. Dirty trick. Bait and switch. I'm outta here.

With basic membership one gets access to the basic steps for each dance. To access more advanced steps one needs to purchase a premium membership. For me, on-demand access to decades of experience of professional dancers complete with video and charts is a bargain.

Sorry to hear about your confusion upon signing up. We try to make it very clear that basic membership gives you access to additional content, but not all of the content. Specifically, the first level is free to the public, the second level is free to registered users, and all subsequent levels are available to users with paid premium membership.
