Hi ! Dancing has been a passion for me since I was 6. I started by modern dancing and some 7 years later I began ballroom dancing. I really wanted to do competitions but my parents never let me do it. Now I just turned 20 and I regret so much ...
Do you think it is too late to start learning sportive dancing steps ?

i just started dancing at the age of 16, actually it was a gift for my sweet 16, and my parents have told me that i'll never b able to become a professinal dancer because i started too late and it was very hurtful but im not giving up i still have a time to become great

You're only as old as you think!! If you want to continue dancing - do it!. You may find you enjoy it even more than you did when you were younger. I started dancing many years ago when i was 45 and enjoy it more and more as i improve. I'm only 18 on the inside.
No Way...

Too old at 20? no way; most people I know from dancing did not start until way after 20; I was 26 when I first learned dancing.

You are as great as you want to become. It's never too late.

I guess that you do miss out on a lot of experience which you could've gotten in the past (if you started at a younger age). But if you are talented, work hard and are very dedicated, you can do whatever you want.
This applies to everything, not just dancing

You are never too old, I'm 39 years old and do it any chance I get, being your age makes it easy to get training and a partner much quicker...if you have the passion for it don't let anyone tell you otherwise, that's all it takes determination and passion... I'm sure you will do splendidly. Lia

This thread caught my eye...I just turned 50 today and I just started taking lessons about a month ago. Of course I'm much too old to dance professionally, but I'm having a blast just learning!! I have wanted to take dance for many years...my only regret is that I didn't do it long ago.

Carmen (from Bryan Watson) started dancing when she was 17, now she's part of a reigning (professional) partnership.
