Hi all,

The chasse in Cha Cha, is it on your toes completely (how high do you raise your heel)? Or do you chasse with your heel (halfway/partially) down?

I meant to double check the official footwork in my syllabus last night, but forgot! On the cha cha cha, I generally step TH-T-TH. You need to lower the heel on the first and third step for stability--all toes is right out. You can lower the heel on the & count on a side basic if you want to (I believe) but usually it's too fast. You don't want to literally raise the heels off the floor...if they come off that's fine (and they will, especially when you point your toes), but don't physically raise them.
