1) Can someone describe the nature of the body motion in Jive?

2) What is the proper technique for doing Jive kicks?

This I have been taught. You should be able to do a link without moving your head back with the foot. So we have hip back. Now replace, hip as man will be to the right and up . Keep that through the jive chasse ,which is too your left. Now swing your other hip up to the left as you chasse too the right. Kicks, always bring your thigh up to horizontal and kick to the floor, then to the horizontal position once again. Also imagine the floor is red hot. If you stay down with any of your steps you will look heavy. Getting back to the hip up on the right whilst moving to the left. As you change your hip you should be able to find a neat place for your right leg to slide up in position. Just to make thing complicated we have another type of action used called Flick Jive. The one above is Swing Jive.
