Re: Do indepedent teachers need a business license

Where I live I would not need a specific business licence as I don't have my own studio and am considered a "sole proprietor" as long as I operate my proprietorship under my own name.

One legal thing though is the need for good personal liability business insurance as sole proprietors do not have the same legal protection as a corporation. Incorporating would probably be an onerous cost for a solo teacher.
