Quite common! If you talk with older dancers, very few will not remember having a crush at one point or another. No, typically nothing is ever successfully done about the crush. It is an illusion, a scene, similar to acting.
Here is a poem I came across that I wrote in my early, less mature dancing years.
***
Mister Inspiration
I watch you glide
My heart melts
Your smile, your tenderness, your strength
You passionately reach for my hand
Dizziness and bliss overtake me
I always want to dance with you
You the specter, mysterious and fleeting
You tickle my heart
I reach for you and never want to let go
In a round, we dance
I sigh as you embrace one lady after another
You look so in love with each
You make everyone look regal and adored
As you reach for me I know I am special
Maybe you are in love with me
Perhaps we will get married and live together
Dancing while we make dinner
Or more likely to you this is a job
And I am one of many flaky clients
Who fall in love with you daily
La la la… to be in love
