Re: videos on this page

First we have to figure out whether yours is truly a video problem, or whether it's a Javascript or pop-up blocking issue.

All of our audio and video clips play in pop-up windows. If nothing happens at all when you click on the link to the video, then your computer is preventing this website from launching a new window to play the video. To view the video, you will first need to determine the source of the blocking. It could be your browser (say for example if it doesn't speak Javascript, or if you have Javascript "turned off"). But the most likely scenario on a newer computer, especially one with Windows XP, is that you have a piece of software called a "pop-up blocker". If this is the case, you will need to disable the software. Most pop-up blockers will allow you to do the on a per-website basis, so you only need to tell it to allow pop-ups for ballroomdancers.com. Don't worry... we only use pop-ups for things you want to see, like video and audio clips, not for ads.

If you click on the link to the video and it does actually launch the video window, but you can't see the video in the window, then it is more likely to be a video player or network problem. To solve this problem, I need more info from you. What exactly do you see in the window? Is it blank, or do you see the video player inside the window? If you can see the video player, then what is displayed inside? Is it a blank black or white screen, a "broken Q" (for Quicktime), or is some sort of error message displayed? If so, what's the error message? If it's blank, make sure you wait long enough... some people's players stay blank while downloading the video, giving no indication of progress.

If this isn't enough info to help you solve the problem yourself, please write back and give me additional details about what happens when you click the link.

Regards,
Jonathan Atkinson
