I WAS REALLY DISGUSTED WHEN YOU HAD A DANCE OFF AND GAVE TITLE TO TO JOHN O'HURLEY, KELLY MONOCO WAS TRUELY ROBEED AS SHE WAS THE MUCH BETTER DANCER. NOW I AM VERY UPSET THAT YOU KNOCKED TATUM O'NEIL OFF YOUR SHOW, WHEN THE GUY WITH THE TENNIS SHOES WAS A TERRIBLE DANCER. HOW COULD TATUM BE IN SECOND PLACE LAST WEEK AND OFF THE SHOW THIS WEEK ? I WILL NOT WATCH THIS SHOW AGAIN BECAUSE I BELIEVE IT IS CROOKED. TATUM WAS GIVEN THE WRONG DANCE FOR HER TO QUALIFY PROPERLY. DELORES KUJAWA AGE, 77

THIS IS THE 2ND MESS., NOT SURE IF YOU RECIEVED THE 1ST MESS. I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WHEN YOU GAVE TITLE TO JOHN O'HURLEY ON DANCE OFF, CLEARLY-KELLY MOMOCO WAS THE BEST DANCER AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO KEEP HER TITLE. YOU ARE DOING IT ALL OVER AGAIN, TATUM O'NEIL WAS CLEARLY THE BEST DANCER OF THE 2 REMAINING DANCERS LAST NIGHT ! THE GUY WITH THE TENNIS SHOES SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE ONE SENT HOME, HE DOESN'T LIKE TO FOLLOW RULES, AND CAN NOT DANCE ! I FELT REAL BAD FOR TATUM, SHE DANCED SUCH A NICE WALTZ LAST WEEK. There is something very wrong with "dancing with the stars":
(1) the wrong type of music is used for some of the dances (e.g. rumba, paso doble demo, ...)
(2) the worst couple did not get eliminated (the guy who can't dance P Miller).
(3) they are comparing apple and oranges (latin versus standard)

Even some of the professionals are not dancing that well, IMO. I suspect they are asking latin pros to dance standard, and vice versa.

The real issue here is that of TV audience voting. Any time that you have a skills contest that is determined by an audience that is unfamilliar and uneducated about the skill, stuff like this can happen. "Dancing with the Stars" is a popularity contest designed to get high ratings so that ABC can make good advertising money off of it. It's not designed to be a legitimate dance contest that selects the best dancer. It's just an entertainment show.
