Re: Merengue Action does it exist?

Anonymous. Merengue action is alive and moving.I am no expert but I remembered that on an instruction tape Intermediate Latin by Donnie Burns it was mentioned and used. He says with a Merengue action, which was LF. to side RF. closes LF. LF. to the side and the RF. finished crossing (like a Feather Finish ) This is all Samba.I thought fair enough I can understand that. Then he said from a Boto Fogo we will go into one Cresardus Walk followed by a Open Run, but to make it more difficult the Open Run will have a Merangue action. I think it is a movement of the hips with the step. Which leads me to think that in a Cha Basic my 4 & 1 has a Merengue action. That's the way I have been taught. It has a bit more feel to it than just side together side.As I said I am no expert, and I don't mind critcism. I just wrote what I saw and heard.
