Ellen. I've seen a coach with somebody who was really bad at floor craft, keep putting chairs in their way for them to dance around.
Janet. Listening to music. I play dance music in my car all the time. I know it helps. With a better understanding of music and being able to pick in 4/4 timing which of the four beats is the heaviest, and to be able to tell where the eight bar phrasing starts. Only by listening is it possible to do this. And you will become a better dancer. I'll go on a bit here. As taught by top coaches . A slow has two beats. First of a Feather will do. Three 1/2 beats, come into neutral on the last 1/2. That does not mean come to a standstill. Just use the 1/2 beat in passing. I am saying without a knowledge of the music and being aware of the beats it's not going to happen. Best wishes.
