I'm at the same place with flamenco dancing. I suggest watching a lot of dancers, taking instruction from a many different instructors as you can and if you can find someone with a good eye who can critique you it's immensely helpful.

I have a friend who has a salsa troupe and teaches ladies latin styling. She has an amazing talent for adding flair to the way her students dance. Simple, little things that add up to phenomenal changes.
