You underestimate DVIDA - they are one of the leaders for AMERICAN style. But pretty much ignored for international.

Er, leaders in what way? Giving out accreditations? It looks to me like a commercial organization (with their company name 'Dance Vision' as part of the name of the 'organization').

They are pretty much the leader in non-chain publishing and teacher training classes for amercian style. Or at least they share that position with USISTD.

International style is of course a very different story.

What about the NDCA?

"What about the NDCA?"

NDCA does not conduct certification exams.

An NDCA credential is based on the approval of other source evidence - certfications from other organizations, competition results, etc.

I ask because I know they are behind the Ohio Star Ball, and on their website, they do have a direct link to Dance Vision. One would assume this gives a little bit more credability to dance vision.

You are reading a lot into vague business aliances that have nothing to do with dancing.

NDCA does not run Ohio Star Ball. Sam Sodano does. He does it with NDCA permission, but that is far more theoretical than practical.

But a judge for the Ohio Star Ball has to have certification. What type of certification would they need for major events like this? Where could someone learn to be a judge for this type?

Certification by the NDCA is a political endorsement of certification(s) awarded by other organizations (typically NDCA member organizations) or of a past competition history. The NDCA does not do "raw" certification because they do not have anyone to conduct the evaluations.

So what would you recomend? I truely want the credentials, and to have being a judge as a back up, but not sure which route to go. I just really don't want a bogus certificate.
