Mark. Doesn't it make music much more interesting and consiquently dancing also if the beats are understood . Elvis Priesly singing Love me Tender is to eight bar phrasing and is a nice waltz to dance too. I learnt very early in the piece. The teacher was very strict. She had me do a few steps in the Foxtrot on my own to music. I had only just started when I was stopped and told I was in time but on the wrong half of the bar. Even though I was counting 1234 I was actually dancing 3412. She then explained the whole thing and showed me that when the eight bars had been played I would be obviously out of phrase also. I've never forgot that lesson. Thanks Bemil.
