Re: Amazingly incorrect EC Swing in video

It would help if you could be more specific. I just watched the EC Swing Basic video, and the technique looks spot-on to me. So I'm trying to figure out exactly what part of it bothers you.

If you're an international dancer with no exposure to American style, you will probably think it doesn't look enough like Jive technique. But what you don't realize is that it's not supposed to. Watch the Jive videos if you want to see Jive technique.

If you're a social dancer coming from the street swing or Lindy community, you'll probably think the posture is far too upright and footwork and hip settling actions are out of place. Just realize that ballroom EC Swing is an entirely different style than street swing. If you want to see a street swing interpretation of EC Swing, check out some of the similar patterns in our Lindy video collection.
