The rhythm is your beat... your foot action describes this section. It causes a reaction throughout the body. whether a straight beat or syncopation... keep the timing with the feet.

The melody would be the essence of the song. It is originally expressed with the leg reaction from the feet causing sway, cuban motion, rise and fall showing the basic melody and character of the dance. You can also decide to add a heaviness or lightness, a flexibility or rigidity, calmness or energy depending on how you hear the mood of the music. Once you pick a mood... try dancing it all out.

The harmony is the musical opposition. You express this with the way you react to your partner and how you play together. If you both pick anattitude and see how it changes the dance itself. Make it a game and roleplay or a story about the song.
