Waltz 123. I think your last paragraph where it is mentioned. " If your upper body preceeds your lower body, it should be copied and pinned up on the wall at home. That is for those who are serious about their dancing.

Timing. Count in half beats for the Standing Spin. Finish on the LF for the lady. If the first step is RF then that step will be (and ) Try it after a Wing. 1 2 3.then and 1 and 2 and so on. How many times you go around is up to you. Good Luck with your Standing Spin.

Terence2, I want to follow up on your Standing spin.

In the standing spin as you indicated I am turning to my left on the balls of each foot, and when doing this the right foot is pushing behind with my right knee touching behind my left knee to keep the motion. I tried this myself in waltz and foxtrot keeping the rhythm and this felt good. With a partner, I have to see.

Where is this on a syllabus. I am doing American though.

What you described (each step turning left with ball of the foot) is called PIVOT SPIN. Many dances have this move.
