It's personal. If they had wanted to announce it they would have.

She danced really well with her new partner, I liked the show number this year better than last years. He probably just retired from competition, that happened recently with one of my favorite couples: max and yulia in the latin division.

Jonathan is now dancing with Hazel Newberry, who split with Chris Hawkins some time back.

I didn't mean to pry, or spread false stories, but since I retired from competitive dancing I've lost touch somewhat with the ballroom world. I had the privelege of having a number choreographed by J&K and it was amazing seeing them work and dance together.

During the time I competed J&K were at their peak, and the couple everyone idolized (including me!). It never entered my consciousness that they would not be dancing together someday. So when I saw that I was quite surprised. But change is good. I wish them the best of luck with their new partnerships.
Thanks for the replies.

Apparently they had ended their personal relationship some time before ending their professional partnership. As we've seen with previous partnerships who have gone throught the same, once that happens it can be quite difficult to continue dancing and competing together...

The new partnerships are a good thing. Enough said.

We had the pleasure of watching Johnathon and Katusha dance at Island Fantasy Ball in Nanaimo, BC, Canada in May 2007.

The split occurred just after that (for personal reasons from insiders who should know).

We went to Snowball in Vancouver for several years with Arunus Bizokas entered but always having to cancel at the last moment (death in her family/death in his or something like that). Also, I recall she was the one implicated in the doping scandal but were allowed to compete at the World Championships this past year which they won.

Anyway, long story but I finally got to see them last year at Snowball just before they won the Worlds:

My friends corrected me this morning.

Arunus & Edita won the World's as they were allowed to compete pending her appeal over the doping issue.

She lost the appeal so they were stripped of the title.

According to my friends it was not a performance enhancing drug but a diet pill.

Your last year must be few years back. 2007 Snowball winner is Benedetto & Claudia.

LOL! My post says they won the Worlds not Snowball.
