5lisamarie. I don't know what system you are working under. But in a normal small competition. There are five judges on the floor. there are twelve couples in a heat and there are three heats each with five dances. At the end of round one two of the judges have ticked your number in each of the dances. One of the other judges gave you one tick in one of the five dances. So you have eleven ticks. That should be enough to get you into the next round. That's about as far as you will go unless maybe one of the other judges decides to mark you in your remaining dances. And that is providing the other judges continue marking you. In the finals the judges will be marking one down to sixth place. Before the dancing starts you might hear the compare say judges we want six couples or whatever from each heat. It'a hard life and if your face is well known its a bit easier.
