What do you mean by your "dancing career"? Competition? Teaching? I thiink you are going to have to have a talk with partner #1 and outline your goals. Does she even know that you are far more serious than her? Perhaps she doesn't want the pressure and would be content with social dancing. It would be sad to lose her as a friend.
Although, I bet if you live anywhere near Atlanta, JJ would snatch her up in an instant.
