"To become competetive at the Bronze level: plan on at least 30 - 40 hours of private lessons PER DANCE."

If you are dancing with your teacher where lessons include your effective practice time that might be the case; otherwise it's quite excessive.

Most bronze couples take at most one lesson per week for all dances, but make this work by using relatively few steps in each dance. Two months is ample time to prepare for the first competition, and there's no reason to spend more than a year at that level with this kind of coaching support, so that's maybe 52 lessons for all dances.
