I agree with the "glue" oder guess. If they use E-3000 it has vapors that could knock a person out. Place your dress in a mesh delicate clothing bag. Gentle cycle or silk cycle - cold water with Tide or Woolite or Dreft. Or soak cycle then gentle wash. Lay your dress out flat on a white towel. The mesh bag will catch any stones that come off. I use Gem Tac (water based and no fumes) to put the stones back on. Air dry and let air circulate around your dress when it is dress. At least for a few days. It takes time for glue to cure.
