Where I'm from (western Canada), there is the original folk dance version of the Viennese Waltz that was brought here by German and Ukrainian imigrants 100 years ago. Around here it is just referred to as "old time waltz." The basic form of it has similarities with other "old time" ballroom dances like polka. Unlike its ballroom cousin (Viennese Waltz), the dance itself is not very difficult for a beginner to learn at a basic level.

I'm not familiar with the music in question, but assuming Porfirio is correct and it's a Viennese, another possibility may be to do a regular waltz to "every other beat." I, at least, think Viennese is a difficult dance for a beginner (due to the speed). If you're not use to doing the turns, dizziness can also strike, especially if your dance is occurring after any toasts involving alcohol or after a reception dinner. This could lead to all kinds of events you might laugh about a few years down the road, but might not enjoy living through during the actual experience. I think the bride and groom might be under enough pressure without that!

Hope this helps, congratulations and best wishes
