A couple of months is still a beginner. I don't care what ballroom or dancesport dancers have to say, you are going to be a beginner for at least six months if you only practice swing. If you split your time you will be a beginner for years. Intermediate tends to be one two three years. You have a long way to go yet.

Oh and under no circumstances should you ever dip your shoulder to lead your partner... teapotting so named because of the resembalance to children singing and miming the "I'm a little teapot" song) is always bad. Your body movement traversing in a bouncing but in a consistant state of "level-ness" will help.

The first step of the triple should be shortened so that your body moves to and then past your stationary foot, the second step is a step together to get your trailing foot underneath you, and the third step lands just outside of your body absorbing the energy before redirecting it in the new direction...

In nature we do the equivelent of a triple step when we stumble and attempt to keep ourselves from falling.
