i can only answer the heel question yes u should definitely get shoes for dancing that's why there r different shoes for latin and standard dancing. while most latin shoes r open toed the standard are closed and stiff making it easier 2 achieve what u r trying 2 dance. hold on 1 more thing i just realized i have a heel turn in my paso doble variation the turn should b simple enough just keep u're rythm and make the turn nice and brisk. i hope i helped ciao, daani

they to me are very easy ive been doing them for a long time.I do it on my 2 and a half inch taps it is hard sometimes to keep a spin going but it takes work.

I think you are talking about something else.

A heel turn is not a "spin" and there's no need to keep it going. When a lady does a heel turn, she just steps in and out - pretty much all of the actual turn comes from her partner. When a man does one he leads the turn, but it's only about a half rotation, so no big deal.
