There is a web site www.ballroomdancing.com.au In it there is a section giving the complete history
of Ballroom Dancing. Also if you can find the book Modern Ballroom Dancing by Victor Silvester there are 19 pages of history. Such things as the Double Reverse Spin was intoduced in 1924 by Maxwell Stewert and there was two of them, hence the name Double. Or how the Feather Step in the Foxtrot was a cross up behind. ( Lock Step ) and the year it was superseded. It is a pity I suppose that most of us have no idea about the history of this sport of ours. I can't imagine that any young ballerina doesn't know that Pavlova wasn't a cake. Just my warped sense of humour. Hope this will help.
