We are getting married in less than two weeks and have been learning the rumba for our first dance. We are looking for some suggestions as to songs that could be used that may be classical or current that are song in English.

Well I guess someone might point out to me that it's a bolero really but I love Nancy Sinatra & Frank Sinatra "Something Stupid"
...and then I go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like I love you...

I know which waltz I'd love to dance at my wedding (when and if) but no rumba has so far seemed realy right.

The main song for the movie Tarzan, I think Phil Collins is singing it. It is a really pretty song.

I have always loved you by Enrique Iglesias and Sometimes when we Touch by Dan Fogleberg are very romantic English language rumbas. Lady in Red is also excellent, but fits an aniversery better.

Sarah. Lady in Red sung by the composer Chris De Burgh. My favourite is Elton John singing Blessed . I know a few studios who use this one. The words are appropriate also. "Till you came into my Life " sung by Colm Wikinson from Jekyle and Hyde . With the words which must have some impact, I think I would use this one. If so when he sings When I gaze into your eyes,when I heard you call my name, make sure you are looking at each other. Best of luck and best wishes.

Dennis, you are so right about Lady in Red, that's the reason I didnt mention it myself though after Sarah wrote her post digging out my Chris deBurgh CD was the first thing I did.

Anyway, Sarah, we still have a couple of days right ;) I'll ask around during my group lesson today maybe people at the studio have a few nice ideas.
forgot to ask my private instructor this morning - but waltzing to the Romeo and Juliet Love Theme (which you should deffinitly consider if you choose to also do a waltz!!! a teaser is in the music section on this site) talking about wedding songs would have been too much.

When we cruised Costa Magica that was one of their favorite songs. It was very pretty in Italian. One group did a bolero version which was awesome.

Just adding my two cents in. Depending on your age you may or may not know the song "Magic" by Olivia Newton John. Look up the lyrics and you'll see it's touching. It does have and "older" feel to it though.

If you wanted an instrumental type I would suggest "Fiery Nights" by Ron Hardman. It's off the Lord of the Dance CD. Good Sax music with some beat changes that you could play with.

Overheard a young couple at the studio today they are considering "Strangers in the Night" for their wedding... not a bad choice I think actually.
