Hustle Technique

Hi folks!

I have a question. Does a Hustle technique book exist? I'm interested in Hustle and I was wondering if I could get me that book.

Thank you!

Whether a (shudder) "Hustle technique book" actually exists is beside the point. There may be a "Doofus' Guide to the Hustle" somewhere; it's probably on the shelf right next to "The Redneck's Guide to Chewing Tobacco."

The Hustle is disco and disco is evil.

If you dance the Hustle then serious dancers will laugh at you.

You should never do the Hustle. Stick with Mambo, Merengue, and Salsa.

The Hustle owes its popularity solely to the fact that you can dance it when you're drunk.

Depends which one... Latin or 3 count.

there is a syllabus for both.. dont know if they are still available.. and a flash for J/boro...

Disco is alive and well in the UK.. it is competed, examined and danced on a weekly basis .

ALL dances should be embraced ( like them or not ) to admonish someone elses taste is to me. as a Prof. intolerant.. I find your viewpoint quite bigoted .

Terence, you are rapidly becoming a boor.

My response was made in jest. I guess the problem is that it was way too subtle for you. Perhaps I should have added a couple of smileys ( ) to give you a clue.

The vast majority of discourse on this board is civil and polite. I've noticed that many of the abrasive interchanges involve you.

If you wish to continue to butt heads with me then you are more than welcome to do so. You're not going to make me angry nor will you run me off.

Yes, I'm aware that disco is still around. There are also demolition derbies, tractor pulls, dog and cock fighting, tobacco spitting, and hot dog eating contests.

And on a serious note for the original poster, I'd like to point out that if he masters the dances that I listed then he can do the Hustle in his sleep.

Then I would call that a feeble attempt at humour ( and i dont think you meant it as a joke )it was derisive at best, but , maybe you think that is funny .

I would be curious to know if the poster thought it was a joke ?

Also i am not trying to run you or anyone else off..

If you hate the hustle, then what do you think of the merengue? Another dance to do when drunk IMHO.

When Merengue dancers begin trying to look like movie stars and drinking pina coladas by the bucket then I'll hate it too.

Besides, it's hard to take yourself too seriously the way disco people do when dancing the Merengue; it's just too silly.

Terence, I agree with you. jj is downright belligerent. I didn't take his first post as a humorous one either. Sorry jj, while I dance hustle for the plain fun that it is, I would never bash anyone for taking it more seriously. Fun dance, wonderfully fun retro music, always puts a smile on my face and the lady's. Just all around fun and sometimes goofy. And, wow, I find that so many ladies walk up to me and want to dance with me next. I hope jj isn't lurking in the clubs I dance at, I don't need the negative vibes! Do Hustle in your sleep if you master Mambo, Merengue, Salsa? Sounds like jj knows nothing about hustle. Being skilled at salsa helps. but the syncopated 3 count hustle is difficult for the salsa/mambo dancer adjust to. I dance salsa and mambo in the clubs 3 nights a week. No one has been able to do Hustle in their sleep yet.

Indy, I can guarantee that you'll never see me in one of the clubs which you "dance at."

The International Hustle Dance Association has a syllbus and, I believe, DVIDA is working on a syllabus and manual. DVIDA has a number of technique DVDs (this website sells many of DVIDA's learning aides).
