I am looking for as many well known chachas as I can find, they need to be as mainstream as possible, preferrably with a good beat and breaks to play with for I have to do a chacha routine without partner for a contest, please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as well as any steps or stunts i could pull off on my own no partner allowed thank you all for your help

I like "In these shoes" by Bette Midler...it's got great room for interpretation of lyrics. Other great cha chas with a heavy bass are best found on "remix" type CDs. Tons of remixes are chas. Great songs like RESPECT, Good times, and other retro favs are always included on these CDs.

Good cha cha for you without a partner...that's a lot more difficult. You're going to have to mix it with hip hop and freestyle...I can't really describe that over the interent! We have choregraphed some of this type of individual cha cha for drill teams in our area...so it can be done and done well though!!

Good luck. M

These are good ones:

Dance Away - Roxy Music
How Bizzare - OMC
Corazon Espinado - Santana
Crusing For Bruising - Basia

"Dancing is a contact sport; football is a hitting sport" - Vince Lombardi

Purchased the latest CD by Santana earlier today...

Track 3 - "The Game of Love" is a good one for Cha-Cha.

So how did it go? Or has it happened yet? I thought about you yesterday when I suddenly remembered that "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" is a cha cha. That would have been a good one!

I like "smooth" by santana for a cha cha.
2 "tea for two" is another classic.
3 my third choice is the Eagles: "in the long run" or even "hotel california"

If by well-known you mean contemporary music, two "pop" songs I like are Enrique Iglesias' *Bailamos* -- it's technically a samba, but also is really nice cha cha. Another one, currently on the radio (at least locally), is Leann Rimes' *Can't Fight the Moonlight* Other possibles: Celine Dion, *Love Can Move Mountains*; Michael Bolton, *How Can We be Lovers* or *Time Love and Tenderness*; Santana *Black Magic Woman*; Melissa Etheridge, *Come to My Window*; Fleetwood Mac, *Little Lies*; and Lee Ann Womack, *Ashes by Now* -- some of these you can of course dance other things to, but in my opinion make good cha

Some more mainstream song ideas:

Marc Anthony - I Need To Know
Pink - Get This Party Started
Christina Aquilera - Lady Marmalade
Smashmouth - Walking on the Sun
Prince - Kiss

Good luck!
