Get the EXCELLENT book by Bill Phillips called "Eating for Life". He also wrote the "Body for Life" book. I would also take up Salsa dancing and dance it alot. Someone in your area might even offer Salsa Aerobics.

Hi Indy

What is this about Salsa Aerobics? Where do they do that? Never heard about this?

East Coast, check your area for Salsa Clubs and Studios. Salsa Aerobics is new here in Indianapolis. Salsa is a high energy dance and working on the "shine" footwork can really burn the calories. Also, the Red Bull is terrible for weight control because of the sugars and calories. You need to learn how to get along without those types of drinks.

You may also want to look at how much protein you are getting in your meals. I found that I was lacking in that nutrient and I need to ensure there's a protein in all my meals and snacks to help fend off 'carb' or bad sugar cravings....and it's working! I find that I am more focussed on a healthy looking meal addressing all my food groups, and not as inclined to snack on refined sugars.
And drink lots of water!

Protien is a necessity. Carbs are also not all bad- looks for whole grains, oats, wheat, etc- refined sugars like sweets, sugar, white bread is what is bad and turns into fat. JB- you're doing the right thing. It's all about balance.

I have no idea what's in Red Bull- but I don't drink that. If I need caffiene, tea is best. Go for what is natural- even some energy bars are okay for you. Splenda is artificial sweetener- not good. Sometimes sugar free just means it has fake stuff which is even worse for you.
