With the IDTA having lost, Guy, Charles Frost, Bill Philips and Alex Brown - all ballroom dance technicians - I'm left wondering who would have been the proof-reader of the new ballroom edition. Thanks.

Are we still on the Featherstep or have we moved to Rumba Walks where the body does incline forward over the feet to the point of imbalance before stepping forward.

What you say is incorrect, BTW, the forward walk commences just BEFORE the point of imbalance, otherwise you wouldn't be walking, you would be falling over.

Telemark.To commence a Forward Rumba Walk allow body to move forward with the upper body slightly in advanced due to forward poise ( Cuban Heels the weight is already over the ball of the foot)
Just before the point of unbalanced is reached, move left leg forward first using the toe and then the ball of the foot with some pressure into the floor lowering the heel and straightening the left leg just before the completion of the step..The same pocedure is repeated using RF to dance a Forward Walk on RF. Walter Laird page 23. IDTA.
Prior to commencing the Rumba Walk take full weight on (say RF ) with the LF extended behind without weight. Both legs are straight.
As I wrote before and you answered. The body inclines forward over the foot to the point of imbalance.

It was the first and only time I've heard a lecturer refer to the promenade position as, 'to end in Pee, Pee.' That statement was said by one of the ladies, on the ballroom committee, during an IDTA lecture on the Tango, at Blackpool.

Regards proof-reading, I would say that John was too busy. I don't know Colin, personally, but my money would go on one of the ladies. Of course, I can't say which one, but you don't have to read many names to arrive at the one I would bet on. It use to be the job of the chair-person to read and correct any new additions to the technique, and then put it to the rest of the committee.
