Cugat is great, but much of his Rumba is too quick for the developed International Style, and too many of his tracks have dreadful vocals - in a style so dated, it makes you giggle, rather like watching Walter Laird dance on those old grainy clips on YouTube.

When selecting a tune to dance the Rumba to. Learn how to count in bars. 25 Bars a minute is the acepted. 28 bars a minute is is passable , but no faster with the way the hips are being used by todays dancers.
Any professional will tell you that if the Rumba is faster than it should be the first thing that will go out the door is the use of the hips.

I noticed that most of the Dancelife music is now available on i-Tunes.
I also find their shoes great

I would suggest this beautiful rumba, it's a slower one but good enough to dance: Paul Carrack - Satisfy My Soul!

I like Stevie Wonder's My Cherie Amour. Another beautiful, slower Rumba, although not well known, is "You Stepped out of a Dream" by Johnny Mathis (wedding dance material). Long intro but a lovely song. Plus "I Have Dreamed" by Scott Walker is really pretty not one you hear everyday. Hope these help.
