Love the Program, woudn't miss it.. Need to change way of scoreing.. If they are going to work hard to learn to do these dances, then they shouldn't get bumped off by someone who can't or doesn't dance as well. Tis way the best couple can getvoted off.. Defeats the whole idea of the program

I like the fact that they are starting to bring more of ballroom out, and not just everything else. Its nice to see it recognised.

I agree with you BallroomNewbe. To those who did'nt agree;don't tune to it next showing. If it does not get the rating;they might not get a spot.Whomever is in charge of the show probably making more money than what we all make combine so they know what their doing.Let's talk about something useful.

It's not a competition.

It's entertainment and a popularity contest.

It does have merit though. My wife usually gets one call a month from potential students. Now she's getting 4 calls a week.

Our monthly club dance averaged around 80 people all last year. Our last 2 dances: 130 & 160+.

People are talking. Interest is building. The show is doing it's job well. It's getting people to go where they can learn properly.

I think of it as wrestling in tuxes and skimpy dresses. Mindless entertainment and fun.

Heck, I even want to see a movie or stage production Bruno has choreographed just to see if it's as bad as he is.

I don't think it is fair the way that the stars are being judged, they shouldn't have to rely on the public voteing, I have just been a spectator but last night I decided to vote, I feel that the stars that are doing well, are being knocked out, how sad for their self esteem, sorry tatum and Gizele. let the judges, judge!

Linda,

Do you get the sense from last night's show that Len Goodman is a feather step away from decking Bruno!

It must be a lot of fun backstage in the green room. >

I went to a ballroom dance and a hockey game broke out!

It's not a fix -- the problem with the show is that the audience vote counts for 50%. So, no matter how bad a dancer someone is, their popularity with the audience can be enough to keep them in. Someone on another board worked out that Jerry must have been #1 in the audience vote last week, and that's what kept him in. I'm sorry to see Lisa go and think she should get some kind of "most improved" award.

I hope drew wins the whole thing. However, if Jerry wins the audience vote again next week, then that complicates thing. Say the audience vote goes this way:

Jerry (earns 3 points)
Drew (earns 2 points)
Stacy (earns 1 point)

and the judge's vote goes

Stacy (earns 3 points)
Drew (earns 2 points)
Jerry (earns 1 point)

In that scernario, Jerry and Stacy would be tied for first. Last year, the audience vote broke the tie, so if they do it the same way this year then Jerry will win it all.

However, if the judges' vote goes Drew - Stacy - Jerry, then Drew would have 5 points, Stacy would have 3, and Jerry would have 4. See, it's not the judges' scores that matter, but simply the order that the dancers end up being ranked. Similarly, it's not the nubmer of audience votes that matters, but the order that the audience ends up ranking the dancers.
