9000 people isn't that small -- I grew up in a town with only 500! But anyway, are you near a larger city with dance studios? You can click on "Dance Directory" to the left and see what's near where you live. I think it's really difficult to learn how to partner dance fromn DVDs or tapes -- you really have to have someone teach you.

If nothing else, do your jazz or hip hop teachers ballroom dance? Maybe if one of them already knows Salsa they could get you started with that. Here's antoher idea: are there enough people you know who want to learn to ballroom dance that you could get together and bring in a teacher from elsewhere?
