ballet shoes emergency

I just bought some ballet shoes (not pointe). They are split sole canvas. You know the elastic that goes around the top of the shoe, and you pull it to the right tension and then knot it off and cut it..? One of mine snapped so I had to pull the excess out, but know it is so loose!It is soooo hard to thread it through again. Class is on monday and I NEED shoes! Any suggestions short of buying knew ones?
