Ours has just completed its third week. What i like is a consistancy in the judging. Two pairs , the dance was Paso. The first pair were brillant The girl would not be allowed to do the cape swirling that the second competitor did, a female doesn't do that. So is it fair to mark all of the inroductory part which did take a a fair bit of the music. The judges give a comment before there marks are shown which was. The girl was criticised by the panel for what they said was having the eyes looking downwards. But the guy, who did get the highest and deserved to was also looking down. Nothing was said. Some of the public voters are easily swayed by the judges comments. So is it fair. A bit about looking down .Both the male and the female are a bit taller than their partners. They would have both been told to maintain eye contact which they did. But as Corkey once told us, from a distance this can apear to be looking down. His advise was look over the ladies head, or the other way around not down into the eyes. Using only first names we have on the program three world champions . Contestant Kostye former World Light Weight Boxing Champion. Contestant Jennifer Former Miss World. and Teacher Luda The currant World Salsa Champion. No Salsa in this program. Altogether though a very entertaining program.
