Hints for reading technique

Something that seems to be causing a lot of confusion with written technique:

Alignments given are those of the feet.

But directions of movement given are relative to the alignment of the body.

So for example the second step of many forward turns is described as substantially sideways, because the body is moving sideways, but is still almost exactly forward with respect to the feet.
