I see the same thing in some of the places we go ballroom dancing. But that 70% is less overweight, much healthier and much less over the hill because they dance. It is neat to see people at an age and weight, were most people would be schuffling around, go out on the dance floor and really move.

I was under the same impression that only the thin and young could do this. I was proven wrong when I attended the San Francisco Open Ballroom Championships this past weekend. The professionals seems to fit these categories, but the Pro/Am and Amateur competitors were all ages and shapes. That was very encouraging for me and, as a result, I now may consider competing in one of these events in the future.
