I just finished emceeing Dance Pacifica 2006 this weekend in Victoria, BC, Canada.

As we were involved in the production we decided not to set up a booth for selling our shoes.

However, someone from the mainland came over to sell. Admittedly they sell better quality than we do (Diamant/Supadance). However, local people were aghast when they saw the prices:

$255 - $285 (Canadian including 14% PST + GST taxes)

We sell all women's $75 and men's $85 (including tax).

As the major market here is beginners our locals realize they can buy 3 pairs of our shoes for the same price as top of the line. When you get down to it, beginners don't want to fork out the huge bucks if they're not sure they'll continue.
