Since you are the weaker partner, I think a male teacher would be better. He will do a better job helping you learn how to lead. We have taken lessons as a couple for 5 years at FADS and have worked with a lot of different instructors.

Optimum is to work with a male and female, that is how FADS sets it up and I think long term the mix is best. Generally man toes best teacher the guy and lady is better at teacher the lady.
