Shoes - blisters

Hi!
Can anyone tell me how I can avoid getting blisters from dancing? I always get blisters on my heels even if I use plaster. My shoes are rather new (I bought them this easter) and in the beginning it wasn't as bad as it is now. In every other aspect they fit perfectly.
Thanks.

Long distance racers and hikers put duct tape (gaffer tape) over the spot that is blister-prone. It works well but can be uncomfortable to take off if the spot is tender.

Akonger. I saw one lady rubbing Vasaline on both her feet. I doubt if it would do the shoe any harm.

Have you tried moleskin? I find it always works to keep shoes from rubbing sore places. Maybe you need to put heel grips in your shoes to prevent your heel from sliding around and rubbing. Or both.
