Thanks for the info! Our basement is 95 X 40 , so we figured it would come close enough for practicing. We are installing a floating floor. What type of wood is best? And, yes, could use some help with decor ideas. What color is best, chandeliers or no chandeliers, mirrors on one wall or two, type of lighting, etc. Thank you.

The keys are:

1) Spring support system - wood lathe, rubber pads, or similar

2) Ventilation under the floor to remove moisture

3) No attachment to the concrete and a small gap on each side, so that the dance floor can move and has room to grow as it expands and contracts. Cover the gap with a thick baseboard attached to the wall (but not floor) for safety.

(that also means you can take up the boards undamaged if you ever move)
